Hello, I'm your neighbor.  My name is Debra Frieden.  I live in the Falls of Cherokee with my husband, Kevin.

Rapid growth along Sixes is crazy!  It's happening all so fast!  I had an idea!

Our Sixes Community is a wealth of highlights!  We are so unique!  We have the Aquatic Center, the Mill, Blanket's Creek, sidewalks, neighborhoods, community shopping and a new I-575 fast lane, WellStar, and Northside are set to make Sixes home and oh 2 Starbucks on Sixes Road --->because we all need our coffee and lattes!  Around the corner along Bells Ferry Road we have the old Sixes Elementary School, and the filming location for the hit series "Ozark."  The City of Holly Springs is working on a new downtown.

We, meaning the Sixes community, are a growing organism of sorts.  When one thing happens and it pushes up against the other, we are all somehow affected.  We also have pockets of land and this is our community headache OR inspiration.  You can ask me on any given day and I may give you a different answer.

I came up with a plan.  A SIXES CORRIDOR OVERLAY PLAN.  It turned into a "Linear Park" concept plan.

I sought out people who have lived in Cherokee County, who understood her, and her history, and try to find workable ideas.

These are a few of the the questions:

What would design standards be?

Was it possible?

How would it be accomplished?

What would it cost?  How would it be funded?

How do we protect property owners and achieve the ideas?

The City of Holly Springs and the County have a divisive relationship.  How can we get everyone back to the table?  We are in the same boat, and everyone needs an ore working in the same direction--->outstanding livable community!

And how to we make this area spectacular!  How can we define ourselves as an outstanding and unique community?

And how in the heck would I get this accomplished?

And so here I am, working on this website to get the word out.  I need you.

My husband and I jumped in the car for a weekend getaway.  We chose a random - never been there destination. This destination was Decatur, Alabama.  We stumbled upon Delano Park.  It was then when my heart lit up and my mind fired off ideas.  It went from "Let's protect Sixes community from "ugly!" to "WOW we can do this too!"  I was mesmerized.  Teens dressed in their prom dresses were posing for photographers all over this park. Children were playing in the playground.  Adults were resting in the shade under sun sail shades on plentiful benches.  It was a community of citizens casually interacting.  Something I don't really see, unless I am standing outside the local grocery store, or public meeting building.  It was thee most beautiful park I had ever seen.  I thought, if Decatur, Alabama can achieve this ---> BY GOODNESS!  SO CAN WE!  I took a lot of video and photos while I was there, some of which may be seen threaded throughout the video and pdf.

Inspired by a park.

It started with an idea...
